Creating a Custom Golf Practice Plan Schedule

If you’re like me, you like structure and having a plan in place to help guide you. As an athlete, I used to train for basketball, golf, as well as in the gym with workout equipment. All 3 of these things rely on routines.

For golf, having a practice routine is super important because it takes lots of reps to build skill and muscle memory as talked about in my 10,000 hours of golf practice article.

It puts you at ease knowing you can show up at the golf course for practice with a game plan and not just wasting the time doing random things. Structure helps you feel like you got something accomplished in the time given.

If this sounds true then a custom golf practice plan & practice schedule may be just what you need.

But first, for those of you who are new, what is Golf Practice Guides about?

What’s Nick Foy Golf About?

Our website was founded around the idea of golf practice and creating practice plans to help you improve your golf game. Many websites focus on the golf swing, which is very important, but watching swing videos isn’t what will improve your golf scores.

It’s golf practice that will. Lots of repetitions hitting putts, making chip shots, and improving the golf swing to hit the ball straighter.

We’ve also kicked off a YouTube Channel that we’d love you to subscribe to for video lessons and tips.

It’s exciting to hear from golfer’s around the world, how we’ve helped them and something we will strive to continue each year moving forward as we come up with new golf practice tips.

So what will improve your golf scores?

Lots of practice of course. But not just random golf practice. Instead, you need to focus on what your strengths and weaknesses are in your golf game. Where are you losing strokes? Where are you gaining strokes or saving yourself?

Once you have these answers, you can create a custom golf training plan to follow that builds these skills you’re lacking and continues to strengthen those that are currently being your money makers. Let’s analyze your golf game for a second.

The areas of the golf game can be broken down:

  • Driving Distance
  • Driving Accuracy
  • Long & Short Iron Distances
  • Long & Short Iron Accuracy
  • Pitching
  • Chipping
  • Bunker Play
  • Lag Putting (long distance putts)
  • Short Putts Inside 10 Feet

How would you rate your skill from 1 to 10 for each of these golf skill categories? This will give you valuable information to help you build your custom golf practice plan to follow.

Designing the golf practice plan is the difficult part.

You may know what’s wrong with your golf game, but you don’t know how to fix it. Am I right?

This is where Golf Practice Guides comes in.

We’ve created three different golf practice plans that are a great starting point for those trying to figure out how to design golf practice and spend their time at the golf course. Each has step by step practice routines that hit on all three general areas of the golf game (Driving Range, Scrambling, Putting) and include worksheets + lots of bonus content inside your member dashboard.
